Dated 9 November 1959 on Churchill's Chartwell stationery, letter reads in part, ''...He has been trustworthy and conscientious in the discharge of his duties, and has shown great care when I was unwell. I am indeed sorry to lose his services, and I am glad to recommend him. [signed] Winston S. Churchill''. Boldly signed by Churchill in black fountain pen. Letter measures 7.5'' x 9.5''.
