Frank Borman and James Lovell signed ''Earthrise'' photo measuring 20'' x 16'', showing Earth rising over the lunar horizon. Earthrise is the first such view of Earth from space, taken during the Apollo 8 mission from 21-27 December 1968. Borman here writes a passage from the famous Christmas Eve lunar broadcast that mesmerized the world, ''From Apollo 8, good night, Merry Christmas and God Bless all on Earth / Frank Borman - / Apollo 8 CDR''. Lovell also signs in silver felt-tip, ''James Lovell / Apollo 8 CMP''. Satin-finish photo measures 20'' x 16'', mounted to foam board and matted to a size of 23.75'' x 19.75''. Near fine condition. With Moonpans COA for Lovell's signature, Novaspace COA for Borman's.
