Ayn Rand typed letter signed, dated 17 September 1963 on ''The Objectivist Newsletter'' stationery, the organization co-founded by Rand a year earlier, which changed its name to simply ''The Objectivist'' in 1965. In this letter, Rand politely declines a request for a personal appointment, writing, ''my schedule in Portland is so tight that it is impossible...[signed] Ayn Rand''. Letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds, creasing along bottom edge, and minute spots to middle left. Overall in very good plus condition, accompanied by original ''Objectivist Newsletter'' envelope.
