Rare miniature book distributed on election day, 1852, presumably by the Whig party, criticizing Democratic nominee Franklin Pierce. Concord: Gazette Press, 1852. Softcover booklet measures a mere 1'' x 1.75'' and runs 14pp., titled on the first page, ''Life and Services of Gen. Pierce, Respectfully Dedicated to Gen Lewis Cass.'' Cass was a Democratic contender to Pierce in the 1852 primary. Bound in salmon pink wrappers. One-half inch of lower edge detached on spine, else near fine.
