Henry Wadsworth Longfellow signed copy of ''Tales of a Wayside Inn'', his highly popular book of poetry published during the Civil War, with each poem a story told by a guest at the inn. Signed by Longfellow on the title page, ''Henry W. Longfellow''. Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1864, an early edition published one year after the first edition. Bound in brown textured boards, with embossed title to spine, and top edge gilt. Book runs 225pp. and measures 4.875'' x 7.25''. Some sunning to spine, separation starting at front joint, and light shelf wear. Good to very good condition.
