Original Hal Foster preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #2218 in the series. Pencil sketch is quite detailed for the first two panels, and then a rough draft for panel 3, hand-drawn by Foster for the 12 August 1979 strip as the series transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. Lot also includes a typed story outline. Both sheets measure 8.5'' x 11'', with Prince Valiant label in first panel of sketch. Three hole punch, and light wear, overall in very good condition.
