Letter signed by banking magnate J.P. Morgan, Jr., dated 26 June 1933 just weeks after New Deal legislation was passed that severely curtailed the banking industry. Writing to his friend ''Bonesey'' on letterhead with his business address of 23 Wall Street, Morgan writes in part, ''...As to keeping my temper, my chauffer, who has been with me many years, and is a friend of long standing, gave me the best point about that, when two or three days before we went to Washington the first time, I happened to mention that I feared I should have difficulty in keeping my temper. 'Oh!' he said, 'you cannot lose your temper with the likes of them'. He was right, I found, because they really weren't worth it...[signed] J.P. Morgan''. Single page measures 8.5'' x 11''. Significant fading to letter, with Morgan's signature in fountain pen remaining bold, with some haloing. Small closed tears at lower left. Overall in fair to good condition.
