Andrew Johnson document signed as President, appointing Charles Spraul as Consul to Taranto, Italy on 23 July 1866. Large partially printed document is signed by Johnson as President and countersigned by William Seward as Secretary of State. Measures approximately 23'' x 18.5''. Blind-embossed white paper seal intact. Not examined out of frame, but some discoloration, chipping, and separation along folds. Overall in fair to good condition.
