Commemorative bronze medal from the IX Cannes Film Festival in 1956, given to guests during the invitation-only event. Cannes is one of the ''Big Five'' international film festivals, where films such as ''Pulp Fiction'', ''Taxi Driver'' and ''Parasite'' have premiered. Obverse of medal shows the first Palais des Festivals building in relief, with ''Cannes'' at bottom. Reverse has ''IXe Festival International Du Film Amateur 1956'', and the medal is marked ''Bronze'' on rim. Measures 2'' in diameter, housed in original satin-lined red box measuring 3.5'' square. Very good plus condition.
