Beautiful engraved invitation to the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge, held on 24 May 1883. Tiffany & Co. invitation features full view of bridge, with two coats of arms flanking it, all above the information about the event. The ''Tiffany & Co.'' hallmark appears at bottom edge. Measures 9'' x 6.5'', with recipient's name of Frederick Thompson filled-in by hand. In near fine condition, better than other examples of this invitation, with only mild corner wear and previous mounting remnants to verso. Accompanied by original envelope, also made by Tiffany & Co.
