Hunter S. Thompson postcard letter with Vietnam War content, composed 4 April 1966. Thompson writes to his friend Paul Semonin in part, ''...your card has set off a chain reaction that will climax with 3 NY calls tomorrow and, hopefully, a solid fix on the next movement. I have vetoed every suggestion from your end while losing a whole month in wild boozing. I am playing hard to get, but now I'm busted and the time has come to deal...I want to sign a contract before the Da Nang chickens come home to roost for real and we face a mass draft, even me. Will be in touch, by hook crook or phone.'' Thompson signs off as ''Jango'', underlining the name in red ballpoint, which he also uses to handwrite Semonin's name and address on verso. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.25''. Light wear, overall in very good condition.
