Large artwork by Edward Gorey, used as the illustrated cover for ''A Song and a Diary for A'' by Richard Elliott, published by The Poetry Project, 1973. Signed by Gorey in pencil at lower right. Gorey's imaginative interpretation shows the characters fully illustrated, once cut-out of their unfolded box. An atypically large illustration in pen and ink, with visible portion measuring 8.25'' x 10.75'', framed to 13'' x 16''. A few spots of discoloration at upper right, otherwise near fine. Not examined out of frame. Accompanied by the printed manuscript, and also with the original receipt from the Gotham Book Mart.
