''Gone With the Wind'' memo from producer David O. Selznick to the film's first director George Cukor. Dated 3 December 1937 on letterhead from Seznick's company, Selznick International Pictures, Inc., he writes about the model and socialite Cobina Wright, Jr., ''What gives with Cobina Wright, Jr.? Should I see her test? / DOS''. Selznick was likely considering Wright for the role of Scarlett, as she was then a stunning 16-year old model and socialite who would capture the heart of Prince Philip of Greece the following year. Memo measures 8.5'' x 5.5'' with some pencil shorthand writing at bottom. Fold and staple mark at top left, else near fine.
