Handkerchief circa 1945 owned by the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, in a pale brown chiffon. Handkerchief measures approximately 13.5'' x 15'', folded to a size of approximately 5'' x 5.5''. With a hand-sewn tag on the edge reading ''W/A/'' and then handwritten, ''W/694''. Near fine condition. Part of lot 2146 from the 1997 Sotheby's sale of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor's personal property, with the original Sotheby's lotting tag. Framed in an attractive gold and pale blue shadow box measuring 14'' x 11'', likely done by the previous owner and not by the Duchess.
