Woven belt circa 1960, owned by the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson. Waist belt with hook and eye clasp measures 24.5'' x 1.5'', beautifully embroidered with golden metallic thread to produce 23 textured florettes upon a base of teal velvet. With a hand-sewn tag on the underside reading ''W/A/'' and then handwritten, ''736''. Light wear, overall in very good plus condition. Part of lot 2221 from the 1997 Sotheby's sale of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor's personal property, with the original Sotheby's lotting tag.
