Franklin D. Roosevelt typed letter signed in full, ''Franklin D. Roosevelt'', dated 2 April 1930 regarding the polio treatment center at Warm Springs. FDR writes to his physical therapist Helena Mahoney, who developed the treatment protocol at Warm Springs alongside Dr. Leroy Hubbard. On Roosevelt's gubernatorial stationery, letter reads in part, ''...I think it is fine that there have been so many patients this winter. We should end up the year in black figures - don't you think? / The life the Warm Springites are leading sounds very gay from all reports. I am most anxious to get down there and see how everything is. / As you say, I have had a frightfully busy winter but things have gone very well and, of course, that makes life easier. / I am so glad that Mrs. Pat is getting ready to come home. I am anxious to see the new babies...[signed] Franklin D. Roosevelt''. Single page letter measures 8'' x 10.5''. Folds, overall near fine.
