Berenice Abbott silver gelatin print of what appears to be an intricate, spindly tree branch, possibly from her Miami Fruit Market or Red River suite of photographs, or even her Supersight collection. Semi-matte photo measures 19.25'' x 15.25'', with Abbott's Commerce Street stamp on verso. Minor wear throughout and some spots of discoloration to verso, overall in very good condition. Acquired by John Robert Tennant Sr., photographer for the Smithsonian's National Gallery of Art, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and then by descent to consignor.
