Berenice Abbott silver gelatin print of ''Collision of Two Balls'', from her suite of photographs taken in 1958-1960 used for a physics textbook. This photograph, showing two balls before and after they collide, was taken with a stroboscopic camera, and is unique in that the video of the collision would show the same movement whether played in forward or reverse. Glossy photo measures 15.75'' x 19.75'', with Abbott's Maine address stamp to verso. Minor wear throughout, more so to lower left corner, overall in very good condition. Acquired by John Robert Tennant Sr., photographer for the Smithsonian's National Gallery of Art, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and then by descent to consignor.
