Lon Chaney signed 8'' x 10'' photo from ''The Road to Mandalay'', a 1926 silent film considered lost until one-hour of it was found in Paris. Other than that portion, this photo is one of the only reminders of the film that starred Chaney as a deformed father, intent on killing a gangster that his estranged daughter was to marry. Inscribed by Chaney in black fountain pen, ''To 'Sam' / Most Sincerely / Lon Chaney''. Some soiling, most prominent on margins, with restoration including Japanese paper lining to verso, and tear at top left repaired. Overall in very good condition.
