William Shatner handwritten signed recollection on his ''Star Trek'' colleague, Walter Koenig, who served as best man at George Takei's wedding in 2008. Shatner has heartfelt praise for Koenig: ''Walter Koenig has many talents - I know he can write, he has sold scripts to people and they paid him - that's unusual and very difficult. He must be good. He's also a director - So he's a man of various talents. He has suffered the worst of tragedies - the death of his child. We can't even imagine what that might do to us. So Walter has endured the worst that life can fling at you. And he has endured. Perhaps that's his greatest talent - Endurance - Life is cruel - Some people get it worse than others. How do they endure? What is it that's strong enough inside them to continue to live - For myself I don't know that I could do it - I love life but sometime our date with destiny doesn't work out. Life can be too much - Walter goes about his life - He works at what ever he's working at - but deep underneath the exterior lies a wound of enormous size. How brave of him to continue - to keep at it and I've heard him get laughs from audiences. Still - still doing it - he has my admiration. / William Shatner''. Single page on Shatner's personal stationery measures 7.25'' x 10.25''. Near fine condition. Also with an LOA by William Shatner.
