Russian box from the personal collection of President Ronald and Nancy Reagan, owned and used by them in the Presidential years at the Family Residence in the White House and then at their Bel Air, California home. Black lacquered box features beautiful detailing on the top lid, which opens to reveal a red interior. Artist details and the date of 1972 appear along the bottom edge of the lid. Likely acquired by the Reagans during their historic trip to Russia for the 1988 Moscow Summit. Upon leaving the White House, the Reagans marked their possessions with a green sticker to designate which of their belongings had been displayed with them during their Presidential years; this box has this round green sticker on its underside. Box was originally sold at Christie's in New York, and has Christie's stickers on both the box and lid. Measures 2.375'' x 4.625'' x 1.55'' tall. Near fine condition.
