Indian writer and poet Rabindranath Tagore signed silver gelatin photo. The recipient of the 1913 Nobel Prize for Literature signs, ''Rabindranath Tagore'' below his image. Tagore, who had early success as a writer in his native Bengal, became known in the West once his poetry was translated. He lectured around the world and became the voice of India's spiritual heritage. Image and photographic border measure 3.25'' x 5.25'' with blank postcard stamp to verso. Some silvering to photo, overall very good to near fine condition. Consigned by the heir of James B. Pond, Tagore's lecture tour manager.
