Thomas Jefferson land grant signed as President, authorizing a tract of thirty-seven acres be given to Henry Hughes, former Lieutenant in the Navy during the Revolutionary War. Also signed by James Madison as Secretary of State on 25 May 1803. With partially intact orange seal at lower left. Vellum document measures 11.75'' x 14.25''. Some fading, and a few small holes, especially along fold lines. Very good condition.
