Stan Laurel typed letter signed with his full name ''Stan Laurel'', penned upon his custom stationery. Laurel writes to his friend Bill Brown n 19 February 1963 on a host of topics including Laurel & Hardy wax figures which Laurel thought were a poor likeness. Letter reads in part, ''...I never saw Harold Lloyd making those High & Dizzy type films so of course I would'nt know he was provided with safety devices or not, but I do'nt think he was crazy enough to take any chances. / The 'Hillbillies' series is very popular here too & is in the high ratings - I've seen one or two of the segments - very good. / Note Sinatra is replacing Bob Hope on the Awards show this year this should be interesting. Re the Wax Figures, I've no idea if they have been removed or improved or not - frankly I could'nt care less...'' Laurel then discusses diabetes, a condition he suffered from, ''...Note your Mother has'nt taken Insulin for nearly a year - probably she is'nt diabetic or if she did have it, its possible nature itself corrected the situation. I've heard of that happening...The tune I played on the bed spring harp in 'Flying Deuces' was 'Waiting for the Sunrise'. (We had been sentenced to be shot at Sunrise)!...I do'nt recall the name of the Girl in 'Way Out West' there were two of them (One played Finlaysons Wife)...Have no idea who actually composed our Theme music, it was an adaption from some old time music by a Marvin Hatley...adios mi Amigo...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Single page letter measures 8'' x 10''. Folds, including one through signature, else near fine. With original mailing envelope.
