Hunter S. Thompson autograph letter signed, composed on bright orange paper to his childhood friend Paul Semonin. Dated 14 December (1968), Thompson offers ''Merry Xmas'' greetings before writing this funny missive, in part: ''Dear Yo-yo - I just got a weird rumor of [David Porter] Bibb - that he is building some kind of massive capitalistic peace orgy...Your cabin here has become a snow-bound commune, the source of many foul rumors. There is talk of the new tenants being responsible for the napalm death of a local dog. My advice is to wash your hands of the whole business...I have given your situation a good deal of thought - & it seems obvious to me now that you should enter the priesthood. Better late than never, eh?...Ciao H''. Two page letter (front and verso) measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds, else near fine condition.
