Stan Laurel typed letter signed with his full name ''Stan Laurel''. Dated 24 October 1962 upon stationery from the Oceana Apartment Hotel, Laurel writes to his pen-pal friend Bill Brown with interesting content regarding his partner, Oliver Hardy. Letter reads in part, ''...I have seen Buster Keaton many times recently on TV - 'Candid Camera' Commercials etc. also the 'Route 66' with Joe E. Brown...Busters been doing very well in recent years financially That 'Haunting we will go' film should head that list of the worst 50 - I fully agree with them, all those made at 20th Fox should be included too. Anyway, Why bring that UP??.! / Re a picture of L&H at the Royal Command performance, there was no picture made at that time, but I do have a photo in the same outfits we wore on that show. I'll have to look for it, if I come across it, will send it to you with pleasure. Re the 8X10 picture, have one of myself taken several years ago (not in screen character)...'' Laurel then answers his friend's probing questions, ''Yes, we visited Madame Taussards [sic] in London, there are no figures of L&H...No, never made any films Abroad other that 'Atoll K'...Ollie did great work in many of the films...I do'nt recall Ollie ever getting mad at any reference to his weight or having any inferiority complex...No have never met any of the Presidents or corresponded...Babe & I had a great respect for each other, we had a very happy association thru' the years. Incidently [sic] why do you want such information? Have you in mind to write a book?...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Single page measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Folds, else near fine.
