Winston Churchill typed letter signed from 5 January 1924, shortly before he was named Chancellor of the Exchequer and switched allegiances from the liberal to conservative party. Upon letterhead showing his address of 2 Sussex Square in London, Churchill politely writes, ''My dear Sir, It was very kind of you to write to me about my work, and I much appreciate your having done so. [signed] Yours faithfully, Winston S. Churchill''. Letter measures 8'' x 10'', hinged at top with archival tape to mat board. Intersecting folds, partly through signature, otherwise near fine condition.
