Andrew Jackson land grant signed as President, appointing 81 acres to a Charles McCartney of Madison County, Alabama. Grant is dated 15 March 1831, and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Elijah Hayward. Vellum land grant measures 9.25'' x 15.75''. Small hole at intersecting folds, some dampstaining and small bit of worming at bottom, and irregularly trimmed edges. Very good condition.
