George H.W. Bush autograph letter signed as Vice President, dated 19 May 1985. Composed upon Air Force Two stationery, Bush writes to country music star Minnie Pearl, in full, ''Dear Minnie, You have a wonderful way of making two fans feel welcome and 'at home'. We loved our return to the Opry and appreciate that very special welcome you gave Barbara and me. George Bush''. A day earlier George and Barbara Bush were guests at the Opry, captured in a photograph published in ''Grand Ole Opry Family Album 90th Anniversary''. The letter is affixed at top edge to the page in this book showing the Bushes enjoying the performance. Single page letter measures 6.5'' x 8.5'' and book measures 8.75'' x 11.25''. Entire lot is near fine.
