Stan Laurel typed letter signed, dated 25 June 1962 on his Oceana apartment stationery, where he lived at the time. Laurel writes to a fan, Bill Brown, who turned into a friend as Brown would visit him in Los Angeles. Letter reads in part, ''...the birthday business, friends & visitors etc. my correspondence has been neglected...I too was sorry to hear about Louise Fazenda & Roscoe Ates, know them both very well, also Eugene Paulette, I knew Ed Everett Horton but never worked with him - met Billy Bevan several times, (he was Australian) Snub Pollard was Australian too, his real name was Harold Fraser. Yes, that was Stanley Fields that played the Sheriff in 'Way Out West'...Thanks for clipping re Buster Keaton - very interesting...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Folds, else near fine with a bold signature. With original postmarked envelope.
