Winston Churchill typed letter signed, with an additional autograph note by the Prime Minister. Churchill writes on 23 January 1955 to Commodore Gordon Allen, part of his ''Syndicate'' who helped him write his WWII memoir, ''The Second World War'', a hugely popular series of books published from 1948-1953. Written on his 10 Downing Street, Prime Minister, stationery, Churchill first apologizes for not acknowledging the birthday telegram that Allen sent before writing, ''...it may have been mislaid among the thirty-thousand letters I received at that time...'' Churchill then hand writes, ''I shall never forget all our work together. / Yours sincerely / Winston S. Churchill''. Single page letter measures 7.5'' x 9.5''. Folds and rust at upper left, likely from a paperclip. Near fine condition.
