Eleanor Roosevelt typed letter signed, dated 26 June 1962 upon her ''Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt'' letterhead from her New York City home. At this time, Roosevelt was chairing the first Presidential Commission on the Status of Women, established by John F. Kennedy. Letter reads in part, ''My dear Johnny, I so wish I could send you another picture for your collection but am sorry to say that I have long since exhausted my stock of photographs...[signed] Eleanor Roosevelt''. Letter measures 6'' x 6.75''. Fold and one spot of foxing, else near fine. With original transmittal envelope with Roosevelt's free franked stamped signature.
