Very rare photo signed by Adolf Hitler from January 1934, accompanied by a letter signed by Albert Bormann, a member of the Chancellory, Hitler's personal staff. Silver gelatin photo measures 5'' x 7'' signed by Hitler at bottom right. Photo is accompanied by a letter signed by Albert Bormann, on ''Adolf Hitler / Kanzlei [Chancellory]'' embossed letterhead, dated 18 January 1934 from its Berlin office. Bormann writes to an American in Cincinnati, Ohio, translating in part, ''...I enclose the requested photo with the personal signature of the leader...'' At this time in early 1934, Hitler had dismantled all democratic checks on his power by capitalizing upon the Reichstag fire in February 1933, and would soon assume full control of Germany with the death of President Hindenburg in August 1934 by appointing himself both Chancellor and President. Bormann's letter measures 8'' x 7.75'', and frame measures 11.75'' x 13.5''. Slight crease to photo and minute silvering, otherwise near fine condition.
