On his personal letterhead, Disney writes on 9 March 1959 to a viewer of Disney's 1958 miniseries, ''The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca''. Letter reads in part, ''I agree with you that too much brutality and bloodshed ruin an otherwise enjoyable television program and I have been working with my script writers to eliminate much of this in our future shows. / We have tried to tell the stories of men like John Slaughter and El Fego Baca as they actually happened in the early days of settling the West -- however, in our upcoming season we shall try to leave out much of the violence and bring out the good which was done by these brave men...'' Boldly signed ''Walt Disney'' at the conclusion. Letter measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Folds, else near fine. Accompanied by original envelope on Disney's stationery.
