Fontaine starred in Hitchcock's Best Picture winning adaptation of the novel and inscribes on the fly-leaf, ''With best wishes, Joan Fontaine, Sunday, August 30th, 1942''. Leather bound 1940 edition runs 457pp. and measures 5'' x 7.5''. Significant wear to boards with separated backstrip. Overall good condition. Signature page remains near fine.
