Charles Kingsford-Smith signed photo pictured in front of his plane, Southern Cross, that he flew to complete the first trans-Pacific flight from Australia to the United States. He inscribes the photo, ''Cheerio to Dick Barnitz / from / CKingsford-Smith''. Barnitz was the airport manager of the Los Angeles Municipal Airport, which would become LAX. Glossy photo measures 6.75'' x 9''. Light creasing, otherwise near fine. Accompanied by an additional 9'' x 7'' press photo from 1934 of Kingsford-Smith landing the Southern Cross in Hawaii.
