First Lady Jackie Kennedy two-page White House press release, dated 21 November 1961. From the Office of the Assistant Social Secretary for the Press, release reads in part, ''Mrs. John F. Kennedy and Mr. Henry F. duPont, Chairman of the Fine Arts Committee for the White House announced today the appointment of the Special Committee to acquire a permanent White House Collection of the works of the same period as the furnishings and objects which are being returned to the White House...This Committee...plans to expand the present White House collection of portraits to include other representative works of American artists...'' Measures 8.5'' x 11'' with staple to top left. Minor toning and paperclip residue, overall very good condition.
