Gabriel Faure, renowned French composer, signs this 3.5'' x 5.5'' matte photo postcard. In the margin below the photo, Faure signs in black ink, ''Gabriel Faure''. By the time this photo was taken, circa 1900 by photographer G.L. Manuel Freres, Faure had composed ''Pavanne,'' ''Clair de Lune,'' ''Requiem'' and many piano nocturnes. During his lifetime, he became France's most important composer. ''Collection Maurice Senart et Cie,'' the name of a music publisher, is printed below photo. Minor creasing and mounting residue to verso, else very good.
