American flag flown to the moon on Apollo 17, the last U.S. lunar mission. Flag measures 5.75'' x 4'', affixed to a presentation certificate which reads ''This flag was carried to the Taurus-Littrow valley of the moon-December 1972''. Flag and certificate were given to Mrs. Betty Brendle, whose husband, Harmon L. Brendle, worked in the Apollo Spacecraft Program Office. Certificate measures 14'' x 11''. Light toning to certificate, some embossed lettering worn off, and small snag to flag. Overall in very good condition. Accompanied by the letter from NASA to Betty Brendle, informing her of the gift.
