American Express Stock From 1865 Signed by Henry Wells and William Fargo, the 19th Century Businessmen Who Also Created Wells Fargo & Co.

American Express stock signed by Henry Wells as President and William Fargo as Secretary. The two businessmen sign the $500 share of stock on 2 January 1865, at which time they operated both American Express Co. and also Wells Fargo & Co., which they founded in order to expand into California. Stock is marked cancelled with blue strikes over the signatures. Measures 12'' x 8.25''. Some chipping to margins and light toning, overall in very good condition.
