Major General George Meade signed carte de visite photo of himself in uniform. The Civil War hero defeated Robert E. Lee in the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg as commander of the Army of the Potomac. He signs the border, ''Geo. G. Meade / Maj. Genl.'' Backstamped by photographer J. Gurney & Son, New York. Measures 2.5'' x 4''. Nick to the upper left surface, else near fine.
