Clarence Darrow autograph letter signed regarding Prohibition. Composed upon his personal stationery, Darrow writes on 30 July (no year but circa 1930) to Dr. Forrest R. Black, a law professor who, like Darrow, opposed Prohibition as a ''fool law''. Letter reads, ''My Dear Mr. Black / I have written something on the plan we have been discussing, to get rid of prohibition. It contains no opinion of [illegible] but simply bold statements - such as I gave to you the first night we discussed the matter of a 'negative code'. I shall try to get it published, but my stuff is often sent back. If it is published, then I will see if I can't get the same magazine, whatever it is, to publish yours. I often think of our pleasant evening and wish we might meet again. - With best wishes - Clarence Darrow''. Single page measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Minor toning and creasing. Very good plus condition.
