Zane Grey handwritten draft page from his bestselling novel, ''Heritage of the Desert''. Handwritten manuscript in pencil reads in part, ''It might have been the cessation of his dancing or the look on his face or both that suddenly quieted the room. Hare had once vowed to himself that he would never forget the scarred face...The sight of it flashed into the gulf of Hare's mind like a meteor into black night...The intense stillness of the room broke to a hoarse whisper from some one. 'Look how he packs his gun.'''' Framed with corresponding page from the novel, which has some changes from the draft, along with a photo of Grey. Manuscript page measures 7.5'' x 12'' and entire frame measures 30.5'' x 20''. Not examined out of frame, but manuscript appears near fine.
