Winston Churchill typed letter signed to his secretary Mrs. Violet Pearman, graciously offering to pay for her medical expenses resulting from an accident. Dated 23 March 1936 on his Westerham stationery, Churchill writes, ''...You must certainly stay in bed until you are fit to be ex-rayed, and then follow Doctor's orders. Let me know when you are able to do any typing...But get well as soon as you can and do not worry about anything. If you are not insured I will pay for any necessary scientific treatment that is required, and your salary of course will continue during this illness. I am so sorry you have had this accident...[signed] yours...WC''. Single page measures 8'' x 10''. Very good with light foxing and creasing.
