Blank Tooting Bec Medal from 1915, as competition was suspended for WWI from 1914-1919. 18 carat medal was made by Vaughton & Sons in Birmingham, with a hallmark of 1915. From 1910-1923, the medal was awarded to the winner of a qualifying competition for a major tournament. From 1924 on, the medal became a cup and was awarded to the lowest individual Open Championship round by a golfer born in the U.K. or Ireland. Measures 22 mm. or 1''. Weighs 9.5 g or 0.3 oz. Comes housed in red box labeled ''TOOTING BEC GOLF CLUB'' with red felt bottom and white satin lining. Near fine condition.
