Two volume book set containing the ''Annual Report of the State Historian of the State of New York: 1897; 1898.'' Published by Wynkoop Hallenbeck Crawford Co.: Albany: 1897-98. First edition. Volumes I and II of the complete Colonial Series measure 6'' x 9'' and give a detailed account of New York's military activity in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars; includes muster rolls and military compensation records. Profusely illustrated with drawings and fold-out maps. Blue cloth boards with gilt to spine and New York State seal on cover. Rubbing and wear to boards and slight sunning to backstrips. Volume II shows one inch crease to upper front board and wrinkling to pastedown. Some weakening at hinges, but pages remain tightly bound.
