Original document from John F. Kennedy's Senate office, acquired from the Evelyn Lincoln, Robert L. White collection. Two page memo outlines Senator Kennedy's record on defense and disarmament, characterizing it as hawkish, likely to position the Senator as a strong Presidential candidate. In part, ''When he became a member of the Senate in 1953 he became a vigorous opponent of the Eisenhower policy of giving fiscal and budget policy precedence over defense policy.'' Single sheet measures 8.5'' x 11''. Light crease to upper right corner, otherwise near fine.
