Richard Newton's ''Nature's Mighty Wonders'' signed. Published by S.W. Partridge & Co.: London: circa 1871. Newton, who became rector of Philadelphia's St. Paul's Church during the Civil War, was known for his skill in preaching to the Sunday school. He published many books of children's sermons. In this one, he writes upon the front free endpaper, ''Charles F. Lennig / with the cordial regards of his friend & pastor Richard Newton''. 5'' x 7'' book is bound in gilt-embellished blue cloth boards. Moderate foxing and rebacked spine. Overall very good condition.
