Lot of 12 vintage 8'' x 10'' photos from the 1940's, related to the ''Spruce Goose'', Howard Hughes' H-4 Hercules aircraft. Seven of the photos are of the Spruce Goose from 2 November 1947, when the airplane made her first and final flight; three of these photos clearly show ''#NX37602'', the unique identifier of the unique plane. The remaining 5 photos are miniature models of the Spruce Goose, also from the same time period. Howard Hughes' flying boat made history as the largest such craft and was nicknamed the ''Spruce Goose'' for its wooden composition due to wartime rationing of metal. All 12 glossy photos measure 8'' x 10'', and were reportedly acquired from a newspaper's photo department. Very good to near fine.
