Certificate for 20 shares in the United States' first giant business trust is dated 31 October 1882 and made out to J.F. Ker. Countersigned by Standard Oil's secretary, H.M. Flagler, and its treasurer, J.A. Bostwich. With serial number 523 and a cancellation stamp dated 23 November 1883. Measures 15.75'' x 7.75''. Vertical folds, very minor creasing to top edge, in overall near fine condition.
